4th Small Istrian Folclore Festival – Main square in Barban at 6 PM

The Small Istrian Folclore Festival brings together young people from all over Istria, and is organized to improve work with the youngest. The common goal of all folklore societies in working with children is for children to understand and accept cultural and traditional heritage (songs, plays, dances, speech, customs, etc.), because it is the best way to preserve the native identity. The program features old-fashioned dances and songs, plays on various traditional and folk instruments and recitals on dialect. There is always a large number of participants, and the program takes place at Barban’s main square, or in case of rain at the Sports Hall of the Jure Filipović Elementary School also in Barban. The Small folklore festival is important for the preservation of the heritage and native identity of our region, and during the two-hour program the youngest members show their skills.

11th Wine Exhibition of the Barban Municipality – Tent in Barban at 8 PM

The wine festivals are a project that Barban Municipality launched in 2009. Namely, the festivals were held earlier, but not every year, and in 2009, a wine story was launched with the aim of promoting wine-making and modern ways of producing quality wines. So, this year the 11th Wine festival of the Barban Municipality will be held, at which traditionally the best three white and red wines of all of the 9 Local Committees of the municipality will be chosen. A committee made up of wine connoisseurs and experts oenologists takes place for wine evaluation the day before the event (friday), and the festival, except of course for the best wines that are proclaimed, is also famous for being attended by a large number of visitors, excellent wine, good food and live istrian music.
