“Advent in Barban” brings a lot of joy, happiness, entertainment and creative workshops for all ages.

Every year before Advent, the Old School hosts a work and creative event called “Let’s Decorate Barban” where the people of Barban show their spirit of community and creativity, participate in making decorations, and create a real holiday atmosphere and decorations for all the events that follow.

Advent begins with the lighting of the first candle and the blessing of the nativity scene in the courtyard of St. Nicholas Church.

Then, last year, Advent was marked by a multitude of events such as the Advent Fair in Glavani Park, a special program and a Humanitarian Concert and retro party on the occasion of St. Nicholas and the Day of the Barban Municipality.

Also, last year, for the first time, the “Baroque Barban Story” was organized, that is, an Advent inspired by the Baroque in collaboration with the Barban Association. The idea is interesting because it aims to revive history and, in some way, educate children about that period, which was predominantly during the reign of the Loredan family in Barban. Also, The Race on the Ring was created at that time, so the greatest things were created at that time. The program included an entertaining and educational game “In Search of the Secrets of Loredan”, a variety of activities and workshops for children, a Baroque Ball, a Baroque Reception, and a Baroque music concert organized by the Ivan Matetić-Ronjgov Pula Music School.

Also, last year, Barban took on a new holiday look with lots of lights and various beautiful decorations with the aim of creating true holiday magic in our small town, where every carefully chosen detail contributed to a feeling of warmth, togetherness, and joy.

It was truly a special and magical Advent in Barban!
