Let's play in Glavani

In the beautiful ambience of the “amphitheatre” of the adrenaline-filled Glavani Park, a meeting of accordion players has been taking place for several years under the name “Let’s play and sing in Glavani”. This is a kind of continuation of the accordion meeting that was held for about twenty years on the Barbanska placa (main square). After a five-year break and non-existence, the meeting was restarted last year. This has proven to be a commendable project because the attendance proves that such meetings and events are needed in the wider community. The meeting brought together a large number of performers of different ages, from elementary school students to retirees. What they all have in common is that they love to play and in doing so, they amuse themselves and those who like to listen to this type of music. Numerous visitors were able to enjoy virtuoso performances of well-known and lesser-known compositions. Music was played primarily on accordions, but also on traditional instruments (mih, large and small roženica) and wind instruments (trumpet, bombardin). Traditional tunes performed “thinly and thickly”, individual and group performances by accordionists, could also be heard. In a word, everyone in the audience found something that particularly delighted their heart and soul.
