Tilting at the Ring has a rich history that spans centuries. The first written mention of this race dates back to the 17th century when Barban was under the rule of the Venetian Republic. By decision of the Ministry of Culture, Tilting at the Ring in Barban was included on April 4, 2016, on the list of intangible cultural heritage of the Republic of Croatia.
