Stefanija's kitchen

Once upon a time, nono and nona lived a peaceful life in a house next to Villa Štefanija; nona baked bread every morning, and nono went hunting every day, picking mushrooms, asparagus or herbs, depending on the season. The kitchen was the central place of the household at that time, and something new was cooked every day. Nono was constantly taking out crumbs of herbs and sprinkling them on meat, fish, stews… It is this feeling that they want to convey to their guests and visitors to Nona Štefanija’s kitchen today.

They offer traditional dishes, which they find in the nature that surrounds us or only a few kilometres away, and use them to make delicious and healthy dishes, made with love and in accordance with the traditions of the area from which they originate. Some call it “slow food” today, and we call it the kitchen of Nona Štefanije. With a combination of local ingredients, old recipes and long and slow cooking, they revive and pass on the tradition that was handed down to them by their great-grandfather Toni and great-grandmother Štefanija.
